Sustentabilidade crescendo no Brasil

Coca-Cola Brasil esta lançando a maior fábrica de BioMeg do mundo. O material é o principal ingrediente da produção de PlantBottle. A PlantBottle é una garrafa de plastico que leva em sua composição plantas do tipo cana de açúcar. Como uma parte da produção da PlantBottle tem origem vegetal ela polui menos do que as garrafas PET comuns. (Leia mais sobre a tecnologia PlantBottle)

A fábrica brasileira terá sede em Araraquara, São Paulo. Na composição da nova garrafa PET será usada cana de açúcar produzida na mesma região. Outro fato interessante é que os produtos derivados do processo de produção será reutilizado para a produção de resina de embalagem. Isso irá reduzir as toneladas de dióxido de carbono que poluem o meio ambiente.

Graças a esta iniciativa, o Brasil se tornará o maior produtor e exportador de BioMeg do mundo, com uma capacidade de produção estimada de 500 mil toneladas por ano. O empreendimento deverá gerar 1.650 empregos diretos e indiretos. Coca-Cola pretende atingir a meta de 100% de embalagens recicláveis em seu portfólio ate 2015. Uma boa noticia para nosso meio ambiente…

Coca-Cola Brazil is starting work on the construction of the largest BioMeg producing factory in the world. The material is the main ingredient of recyclable PlantBottle production. Part of the composition of the PlantBottle has plant origin. (Read more about PlantBottle technology)

The Brazilian factory will be located in Araraquara, Sao Paulo. The great sustainable innovation is that cane sugar produced in the same region will be used in the PlantBottle production. Another interesting fact is that the by-products of the process will be used in the production of packaging resin. This will reduce the tons of carbon dioxide that pollute the environment.

Thanks to this initiative, Brazil will become the largest producer and exporter of BioMeg the world, with an estimated production capacity of 500,000 tons per year. The venture is expected to generate 1,650 direct and indirect jobs. Coca Cola aims to have only recyclable packaging designs in its portfolio by 2015.
