What are some practical things I can do to create carbon offsets? Anything I can incorporate into my daily life?
Hi Alison, first of all, thanks for visiting my blog and participating leaving your comment.
The basic idea of carbon offset is to find out your personal contribution level to the global warming problem from activities like driving, flying, purchasing products that are shipped long distances or home energy use. This contribution is called “carbon footprint.” You can buy carbon offset online. For example some flight companies gives you the opportunity to buy carbon offset when you book a flight. You can also support tree planting projects or any other environmentally friendly project.
But if you want introduce it on your everyday life, you can simply reduce your carbon footprint buying local products, recycling, saving electricity and water, riding a bike instead of driving… small things like this can make the difference.
I am doing some research about companies that sell carbon offset. As soon as I have more information, I will post it in to my blog.
Keep in touch!
